MANCHESTER UNITED FIRMLY REJECT JANUARY INTEREST IN KOBBIE MAINOO

Manchester United have made it clear they will not entertain any offers for young midfielder Kobbie Mainoo during the upcoming January transfer window. Club officials are determined to retain the 20-year-old academy graduate, viewing him as a significant part of the club’s long-term future.

Despite not having started a single Premier League match this season under manager Ruben Amorim, Mainoo’s potential is highly valued within the club’s hierarchy. The belief is that his youth and development ceiling remain exceptionally high, and he could yet force his way into the manager’s plans, whether under the current regime or a future coaching setup.

Ahead of Monday’s league fixture, Amorim acknowledged Mainoo’s versatility, suggesting the player could potentially operate in a deeper defensive midfield role in the future. This comes after earlier indications that he was primarily competing for a more advanced position in the team’s midfield structure.

The club’s current form, with just one defeat in their last nine league outings, has bolstered confidence in Amorim’s project and reduced any urgency to offload squad players. The policy remains that any player can earn their opportunity through application and performance in training.

When questioned about Mainoo’s standing, Amorim pointed to the recent resurgence of a more experienced teammate as evidence that situations can change, affirming that every player in the squad is considered capable of reaching a high level. United’s stance reflects a commitment to nurturing homegrown talent and resisting short-term decisions regarding a player they believe can contribute significantly in the years to come.
