ITALIAN AUTHORITIES SEIZE TUSCAN ESTATE LINKED TO EMBEZZLEMENT FROM VETERAN ACTRESS

Italian financial police have executed a seizure order on a portfolio of assets in Tuscany valued at approximately 20 million euros. The properties, which include a residential complex, vineyards, and olive groves, are alleged to have been purchased with funds misappropriated from the accounts of a prominent 90-year-old actress.

According to official statements, the investigation originated following a formal complaint lodged in Switzerland. The complainant reported a substantial and unexplained reduction in her financial holdings, allegedly orchestrated by individuals entrusted with managing her wealth. Swiss prosecutors subsequently identified a pattern of complex transactions amounting to roughly 18 million Swiss francs, described as a systematic diversion of funds.

The financial trail led investigators to Italy, where judicial authorities in Florence assumed control of the case. Their inquiry focused on the movement of capital, which was ultimately traced to a specific real-estate holding in the San Casciano area. The seized assets encompass multiple residential units, agricultural land dedicated to viticulture and olive cultivation, along with various artworks and other valuables.

A Florentine judge, affirming the prosecution’s request, authorized the preventive seizure of these assets to recover the full sum suspected of being illicitly obtained. The judicial order targets the property portfolio up to the value of the alleged embezzlement. The identities of the individuals under investigation have not been disclosed in the current phase of proceedings.

The actress at the center of the case rose to international fame in the 1960s, most notably for an iconic appearance in a James Bond film. Her career in film and television spanned several decades following that breakthrough role.
